Disclosed is an operation method of a mobile robot for security. The method comprises steps consisting of (a) and (b). In step (a), a mobile robot for security recognizes a face image of a person facing the mobile robot, and determines whether the recognized face image is a registered face and an image. In step (b), when the face image of the person facing the mobile robot is the registered face and the image, the mobile robot for security recognizes a movement of the person facing the mobile robot, and performs a command corresponding to the recognized movement.
