1. A method for determining a switching function for a sliding mode controller configured to control a controlled variable of a system, the method comprising:
selecting the switching function (i) as a function of a control deviation of the controlled variable and time derivatives of the control deviation up to at least a second order and (ii) based on initial control dynamics of the system, the switching function having coefficients that are represented by a plurality of poles of a closed control loop of the system; selecting each pole of the plurality of poles as a function of the control deviation; and setting desired control dynamics of the system by shifting at least one first pole of the plurality of poles. |
