<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED unit at low cost, which is suitable for illumination and excites photocatalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The LED unit 2 includes a white LED 5a for emitting white light for illumination, a blue LED 5b for emitting blue light in order to excite the photocatalyst, and a lighting-up control part 22 for controlling the white LED 5a and the blue LED 5b in response to one lighting-up mode selected from a plurality of lighting-up modes. The lighting-up control part 22 lights up the white LED 5a at selection of a first lighting-up mode, and switches off the blue LED 5b. When a second lighting-up mode is selected, the lighting-up control part 22 lights up the blue LED 5b, and switches off the white LED 5a, or lights up the white LED 5a at a designated dimming rate lower than 100%. Thus, when the first lighting-up mode is selected, the light suitable for illumination can be irradiated. When the second lighting-up mode is selected, the photocatalyst can be excited with an LED at lower cost than an ultraviolet LED. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
