A window or door has a hinge mechanism which facilitates opening by swing- or tilt-action. The fitting has a lever arm which is attached on one side to the moving inner door or window frame, and on the other side to a scissor-action housing. In tilting operation unintended motion is prevented by a locking device (1). The force required to prevent movement is adjustable in accordance with the weight of the respective door or window. |
