An ink transfer split roller unit capable of preventing an abnormality from occurring by detecting an abnormality in changing over the positions of ink transfer rollers. The ink transfer split roller (5) comprises a support member (6) fixed to the frame (7) of a printing machine, a plurality of short cylindrical movable members (8) mounted on the support member (6) so as to be reciprocatingly moved independent of each other in a same direction, the ink transfer rollers (15) rotatably mounted on the outer peripheries of the movable members (8), and a roller position changeover device (19) installed in the support member (6) and changing over the positions of the movable members (8) independent of each other. A position changeover detection sensor (102) for detecting the changeover of the positions of the movable members (6) is mounted at the portion of the support member (6) in slidable contact with the movable members (8).
