EDIBLE PET FOOD COMPOSITION AND VARIOUS PACKAGING ARRANGEMENTS

Various packaging systems for pet or animal food (210, 400, 500, 600) are disclosed. One package system comprises a primary container such as a tray or tin can (102, 506) with a primary ingredient and a secondary container such as a sachet (24, 110, 230) containing an ancillary ingredient (26, 108, 228) wherein the primary container is adapted for enclosure of the secondary container. The secondary container is attached to an openable portion (106) or peel-of plastic cover (14, 220) of the primary container. The pet food is a nutritional composition for animals having two or three juxtaposed nutrient structures from a nutrient structure group of a liquid carrier containing a protein source, a substantially solid carrier containing a fibre source, and a bulk gel carrier containing a carbohydrate source. A second packaging is shaped in section as a dog bone (1000) or fish (1200) and is divided into three compartments. A further packaging is a container comprising a base portion with side portions and a dividing element that divides the container into an upper compartment for a first edible composition and a lower compartment for second edible portion. Another packaging (1100) is in the form of a bowl-like outer shell (1112) with a base portion and sides, and an integrally formed internal receptacle (1114) extending upwardly from the base portion. The bowl-like outer shell and internal receptacle forming a first outer edible composition containing portion and the internal receptacle forming a second internal edible composition containing portion.
