A mobile communication system for managing pets and a method operating the same are provided to operate a home server and the home appliances connected with the home server directly through a communication company server so that a user can confirm the state of his/her pet, which stays at home, in a remote place in real time. A mobile communication system for managing pets is comprised of a home server(20), a communication company server(30), and a mobile terminal(10). The home server(20), operated according to a request, controls the operations of the home appliances(40a-40c) connected to a network. The home server(20) comprising a camera, provides the state data of pet animals. The communication company server(30) transmits the state data received from the home server(20). Also the communication company server(30) transmits a received message to the home server(20) according to a request. The mobile terminal(10) controls the operations of the home appliances(40a-40c) through control commands according to the state data received from the communication company server(30).
