PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underfloor storage device, having a structure easy to open/close while having a minimized gap between a lid and a frame in the closed state, which is good in appearance having no member protruding from a floor surface, easy to open/close, and is safe in taking in and out articles. SOLUTION: A spindle is supported by a spindle holding means so that it may be movable to a lower position where the lid is closed and to an upper position where the lid is opened. The underfloor storage device comprises an opening/closing means including a lock mechanism for maintaining a closed state of the lid and an unlocking mechanism unlocking the locked state, an urging means for elastically supporting the lid in a stepwise manner in the opening direction upon opening operation of the lid, and an opening/closing guiding means for guiding the movement of the spindle upon opening/closing of the lid. When the closed state is released by the unlocking mechanism of the opening/closing means, the spindle is moved from the lower position to the upper position by the spindle holding means and the opening/closing guiding means.
