<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately grasp the state of an image forming device on the outside of the image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming system is equipped with a client 10, a network 20, an external controller 30, a printer 40 and a UI (User Interface) device 50. The printer 40 and the UI device 50 are connected with the Ethernet(R), and the UI device 50 outputs image forming conditions or the like to the printer 40. In the meantime, the printer 40 outputs data to the UI device 50, and the UI device 50 displays information based on the data. For example, when the power source of the printer 40 is turned off, the printer 40 performs a notification that the power source is turned off in advance to the UI device 50, and then, executes a process for turning off the power source of the printer 40.
