SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR LIMITING DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION ON A COMMUNICATION NETWORK BASED ON GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION

A method for controlling access to information from an information provider processor by one or more recipient processors using a communications network, based on the geographic locations of the recipient processors. Each respective recipient processor has associated means for providing location information corresponding to the location of the respective recipient processor. The method comprises encoding a content item in a manner that can be decoded by a decoding scheme that requires proper location data either (i) as part of an algorithm, or (ii) as a key or (iii) to allow access to an algorithm or key; and communicating the encoded content item to a recipient processor over the communication network.
