Disclosed is a heteroaromatic diamide compound of formula (I) wherein the substituents are as disclosed in the description. An example of a compound of formula (I) is 5-(3,5-Bis-trifluoromethylpyrazol-1-ylmethyl)-2-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-2H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid 4-chloro-2-methyl-6-methylcarbamoylphenyl amide. Also disclosed is a process for preparing a compound of formula (I) and the intermediates used in the process. Further disclosed is the use of compound to treat seeds, to control pests, to treat transgenic plants and a seed treated with the compound of formula (I).
