PURPOSE: An object monitoring method of an image and an apparatus thereof are provided to detect an object by efficiently extracting an object image from a background model. CONSTITUTION: A motion class determining unit(83) compares a present background model with a present image and classifies blocks. The motion class determining unit outputs the classified blocks. An object tracking unit(84) searches for tracks for accumulating block information. A background model generating unit(82) updates a block position and updates a next background model. |
