PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to display efficient information on a lock screen of a mobile terminal when a mobile terminal is in a lock state. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(180) displays a home screen which displays an application object including a widget object in a standby mode on a touch screen. The controlling unit displays a lock screen on the touch screen when the home screen is changed from standby mode to lock mode. The controlling unit displays a specific widget object on the home screen.
