Abstract An optical element for redirecting light emitted from a light emitting diode (LED) light source into a light beam, the optical element including: a top aperture at a top of the optical element for the light beam to emanate therefrom and at least one bottom aperture at a bottom of the optical element for the LED light source to protrude therethrough, and a reflective surface extending between the top and the at least one bottom aperture, wherein the reflective surface includes: a first surface adjacent and substantially surrounding the LED light source, and configured to substantially diffusely reflect light from the LED light source into the light beam; and a second surface adjacent the first surface and extending arcuately around the first surface, and configured to substantially specularly reflect the light from the LED light source into the light beam, wherein the first surface and the second surface mix light of different colours when reflecting light from the LED light source into the light beam so as to substantially minimise Colour over Angle (CoA) variation for the LED light source over a predetermined light beam distribution of the light beam. |
