PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle information processing apparatus configured to ensure visibility of important information, in a display area of a display device that displays a pointer corresponding to a motion of a hand and various information.SOLUTION: A vehicle information processing apparatus includes: a display device 2 arranged in front of a driver of a vehicle; a motion sensor 3 and a detection section 4 for detecting a hand in a recognition area; a determination section 5 which determines a motion of the hand; a processing section 6 which executes processing corresponding to the motion determined by the determination section 5; and a display section 7 which displays a result of processing on the display section 2. A display area of the display device 2 includes a first area (vehicle information display area) for displaying vehicle information on a traveling state of the vehicle. The processing section 6 detects a position of a pointer indicated in the display area of the display device 2 in response to the motion determined by the determination section 5, and hides the pointer when the position is included in the first area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
