PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine with high accuracy whether or not a sheet to which a patch image for forming an LUT gray-level correcting on an image signal so that a printing image becomes the image of a proper gradation is proper as a reference sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet appropriateness determination apparatus obtains a concentration curve for high concentration range aptitude determination indicating a concentration to a pixel value to which a color reproduction property of the sheet is reflected, determines that the sheet is proper for the high concentration range when the highest concentration appeared on the obtained concentration curve is within a range between predetermined two threshold values of the concentration, and obtains a concentration curve for low concentration range aptitude determination indicating the concentration to the pixel value to which the color reproduction property of the sheet is reflected, and determines that the sheet is proper for the low concentration range when the pixel value corresponding to a concentration to be added a predetermined concentration width to the lowest concentration appeared on the obtained concentration curve is within the range between the predetermined two threshold values of the pixel value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
