PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader/writer, when an application program desired to start is not installed in a portable terminal, capable of quickly downloading the application program, and to provide a confirmation method for starting an application, and an application startup confirmation program.SOLUTION: When detecting an IC chip of a portable terminal, a reader/writer transmits, to the IC chip, a startup command that causes a CPU of the portable terminal to start a specific application program through the IC chip. The reader/writer, in response to the startup command, determines whether or not the specific application program is started, and when determining that the specific application program is not started yet, transmits information for downloading the specific application program to the IC chip. |
