A process for producing a (meth)acrylic resin composition, the process comprising: continuously supplying, to a tank reactor, starting materials which comprise one or more polymerizable monomers comprising 50-100 mass% methyl methacrylate, 0-20 mass% alkyl acrylate(s), and 0-30 mass% other monomer(s), a chain-transfer agent, and a free-radical polymerization initiator; polymerizing the polymerizable monomers by bulk polymerization to a conversion into polymer of 40-70 mass%, thereby obtaining a liquid containing a (meth)acrylic resin; continuously supplying the obtained liquid to a vented extruder to separate the liquid into volatile matter and the (meth)acrylic resin; separating the separated volatile matter by an atmospheric distillation column into a high-boiling-point fraction (C1) and a low-boiling-point fraction (A1); separating the separated high-boiling-point fraction (C1) by a vacuum distillation column having a column top pressure set at -50 to -101 kPaG, into a high-boiling-point fraction (C2) and a low-boiling-point fraction (A2); and reusing the separated low-boiling-point fraction (A1) and low-boiling-point fraction (A2) as some of the starting materials. |
