PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorptive material which absorbs body fluids quickly and has a large absorption quantity.SOLUTION: A method for producing the absorptive material comprises: a step of mixing an alkyl cellulose derivative with water to prepare an aqueous solution of the alkyl cellulose derivative; a step of adding a surfactant to the aqueous solution of the alkyl cellulose derivative to prepare a surfactant-containing mixture; a step of irradiating the surfactant-containing mixture with radioactive rays to prepare a cellulose hydrogel; a step 10 of cutting/pulverizing the cellulose hydrogel to prepare cellulose hydrogel particles; and a step of drying the cellulose hydrogel particles at the temperature equal to or lower than 100°C. |
