<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus that can suppress decreases of charging property and flowability of toner in a toner stirring unit and also prevent an abnormal image which has, for example, its ground stained from being formed even during imaging operation right after toner cartridge replacement. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 30 has the toner stirring unit 31 and a toner cartridge 32 for supplying toner to the toner stirring unit 31. Further, the developing device 30 has a cartridge information storage means 32e stored with information regarding toner characteristics of toner in the toner cartridge 32 and a connection hole 33, and the supplying and stirring operation to supply the toner from the toner cartridge 32 into the toner stirring unit 31 through the connection hole 33 and agitate the toner in the toner stirring unit 31 is controlled based upon the information stored in the cartridge information storage means 32e. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
