<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce consumption power by paying attention to a function necessary for processing of data. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus that receives a request of processing of data from a client device (step S1) judges a function of necessary for the processing of the data (step S2). When the function is of a normal mode, the processing of the data is continued (steps S3, S5). When the function is of a power save mode, the apparatus is restored to the normal mode, and then it performs the processing of the data (steps S3, S4, S5, S6).
