An apparatus for testing a liquid crystal display is provided to install an inverter at an inspection board and apply switching signals through transmission lines bound by two to execute a VI(Visual Inspection) test without increasing operation frequency of switching signals even through resolution increases. An inspection signal generator generates a plurality of switching signals. An inspection board receives the switching signals to generate inverse switching signals having a phase opposite to a phase of the switching signals, through an inverter. A liquid crystal display device includes a data driver generating a data voltage, signal lines connected with the data driver, a plurality of transmission lines transmitting the switching signals, and inspection pads connected with partial transmission lines. Transmission gates(TG1-TG6) have input terminals connected with the signal lines, control terminals connected with two transmission lines which are different from each other, and output terminals connected with the data lines. The switching signals(TSR,TSG,TSB) are applied through three inspection pads(PA7-PA9) connected to ends of transmission lines(TL1-TL3). Other switching signals(TSRB,TSGB,TSBB) are applied through three inspection pads(PA10-PA12) connected to ends of transmission lines(TL7-TL9). |
