PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for driving a solid-state imaging apparatus, with which a successful dynamic range is obtained in a bright area and in a dark area. SOLUTION: First exposure processing (t1-t2) for generating information electric charges, by exposing a photoelectric conversion element, electronic shutter processing (t2-t3) for discharging the information electric charges generated by a part of the photoelectric conversion element in the first exposure processing (t1-t2), transferring processing (t3-t4) for transferring information electric charges left in the electronic shutter processing and second exposure processing (t4-t5) for generating the information electric charges, by exposing the photoelectric conversion element for time different from that in the first exposure processing (t1-t2), are performed to the solid-state imaging apparatus where color filters, having the same transmission area are arranged at a prescribed period along the columnar direction of the light-receiving surface of the photoelectric conversion element.
