PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate material lateral side processing device for processing a lateral side of a plate material by relatively moving a tool along the lateral side of the plate material, capable of processing all of plate materials with different areas and aspect ratios at high accuracy without replacing a table for fixing the plate material. SOLUTION: A side holder 5 holding a lateral side part 1a of a plate material 1 held by a table of a lateral side processing device near a tool 3 processing a processed lateral side 1b movably in a feeding direction of the plate material 1 and immovably in the direction perpendicular to the material plane is mounted on a tool stand supporting the tool 3. The side holder is arranged near the tool 3, and comprises a pair of guide faces opposed to top and rear faces of the side part of the processed plate material via a gap, and a pair of front and rear rollers 22. The guide faces have flow-out holes of pressure fluid for floating the plate material. The side holder 5 moves relatively to the table 2, but does not move relatively to the tool 3.
