PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface thermometer having excellent weatherability and enabling repeated use. SOLUTION: The surface thermometer includes forming a closed space part 5 inside the member of a temperature sensitive container by mounting a cap member 3 on the member 2 of the temperature sensitive container, installing a display member 20 having a prescribed display part in the space part 5, and storing a temperature sensitive material 10 in the space part 5 between the display member 20 and the cap member 3. The temperature sensitive material 10 is opaque in a solid state. The display part 20a of the display member 20 can not be confirmed by visual observation through the cap member 3. The temperature sensitive material 10 melts and is changed into liquid by being heated from an object to be measured 100 up to a prescribed temperature through a heat sensitive part 4, and the display part 20a of the display member 20 can be confirmed by visual observation through the cap member 3.
