PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to generate a stereoscopic image with an optimal 3D effect following a stereoscopic image mode. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(151) displays an image captured by at least one or more cameras from a first camera(121a) and a second camera(121b). A control unit(180) sets a plurality of division sections respectively for left eye image and right eye image captured by the first camera and the second camera. The control unit generates a stereoscopic image based on a depth value of each division section.
