PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress breakage of a glass pad for upsetting forging at the time of manufacturing the glass pad.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a glass pad 1 includes: a press processing step of pressing a kneaded glass material 31 by an upper die 32 and a lower die 33 coated with a release accelerator to mold a circular glass pad 1 whose central part is recessed and is formed with a hole; an upper die release step of releasing the upper die 32 from the glass pad 1 molded in the press processing step; and a lower die release step of releasing the lower die 33 from the glass pad 1 released from the upper die 32 in the upper die release step. The lower die is formed so as to be radially dividable into plural parts. In the lower die release step, while maintaining the shape of the glass pad 1 by using a holding tool 43 holding the outer peripheral surface of the glass pad 1, the lower die 33 is moved radially outward so as to be divided into two or more parts, whereby the glass pad 1 is released from the lower die 33. |
