In order to improve insulation properties of a battery stack obtained by stacking a plurality of secondary battery cells, a power supply device is provided with: a plurality of secondary battery cells (1) each provided with an outer can having a rectangular shape with a thickness thinner than the width of the main surface; and a cooling plate (7) disposed at the bottom-surface side of a battery stack obtained by stacking the plurality of secondary battery cells (1) in an orientation in which the main surfaces face each other. In the power supply device, protrusions (31) which protrude in a direction heading away from the front-surface side of the cooling plate (7) are formed between adjacent secondary battery cells (1). As a result, the creepage distance between the secondary battery cells (1) can be made longer, and insulation properties can be improved.
