Method for monitoring a cable which can be disconnected in a network, appropriate monitoring device and monitoring system therefor

The method involves activating and deactivating an application of a power supply cable (2) with a measurement voltage (U), an insulation monitor (12) and a short circuit monitor (13) after and before the disconnection and connection of the cable from and to an electrical network (1), respectively. The insulation monitor monitors insulation resistances of strands (3, 4) of the cable against earth/ground potential of the network using the voltage. The short circuit monitor monitors a short circuit between the strands using the measurement voltage. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a monitoring device for executing a method of monitoring a disconnectable cable in an electrical network (2) a monitoring system for monitoring a set of disconnectable cables in an electrical network.
