PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical functional element capable of manufacturing a high quality optical functional element by improving performance of a wavelength plate unit.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an optical functional element that manufactures an optical functional element from glass 10, in which a wavelength plate unit 3 in which a plurality of cylinder areas 5 (refractive index change areas) arranged in parallel are formed are arranged in a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows two-dimensionally. With this method, a wavelength plate unit 3 is manufactured by moving the glass 10 and femtosecond laser 20 radiated onto the glass 10 relatively while radiating as many femtosecond laser 20 as the cylinder areas 5 formed in the wavelength plate unit 3 onto the glass 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
