<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal and a method of controlling the operation of the mobile terminal, in which stereoscopic information on a three-dimensional (3D) image is calculated and utilized to control various operations performed by the mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A method for controlling operation of a mobile terminal device comprises steps of: dividing first (205) and second (207) images that can represent a 3D image by using parallax into a plurality of blocks; searching at least the first image (205) and second images (207) for at least a pair of matching blocks (311, 321) (S405); calculating depth information of each of the at least a pairs of matching blocks based on a difference in position between each of the at least the pair of matching blocks (S420); calculating stereoscopic information of the 3D image based on the calculated depth information (S430). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
