PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium and the like capable of recording information with higher recording density as compared with conventional one and enhancing stability and reliability at the time when recorded information is reproduced.

SOLUTION: An optical disk DK wherein information is reproduced by irradiation of an optical beam for reproduction which does not pass through a photochromic layer 2 at the time before its transparency is not changed by irradiation of an optical beam for recording and passes through the photochromic layer 2 at the time after its transparency is changed is provided with the photochromic layer 2 which is initialized by initialization light and maintains the change of the transparency by irradiation of the optical beam for recording after irradiation is ended and a fluorescent layer 3 which emits light having a frequency different from the frequency of the light beam for reproduction by irradiation of the light beam for reproduction as detection light L. The photochromic layer 2 and the fluorescent layer 3 are formed in this order in the irradiation direction of the light beams for recording and reproduction.
