<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint structure for a cap and a main body of a writing instrument or a makeup tool, which can realize a stable joint state without generating noise in fitting-in. <P>SOLUTION: In the main body 1 of the writing instrument or the makeup tool, a gap part is provided between an outside cover 11 and an inside pipe 12, on at least either a side where a mouthpiece 13 at a leading end protrudes or a side opposite to the side; a surface part of the inside pipe 12 is provided with an O-ring 3; and the O-ring 3 can slide on an inside surface of the cap 2 which is fitted into the gap part.
