<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an output image with high picture quality whose granular feelings are more prevented from being obvious by assigning more gradations to a printer output lightness range with more little granular property. <P>SOLUTION: A printer granular profile and a visual critical level are loaded (S401 to S402), and the area of printer output lightness whose granular property is larger than that of the visual critical level is detected in the printer granular profile (S403), and the inclinations of the printer output lightness characteristics of the detected area and another area are searched (S404), and the control points of an output lightness conversion table are searched (S405), and those respective control points are interpolated by spline curves or the like so that the output lightness conversion table can be obtained (S406). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
