The invention relates to a method for purifying gas (1), in particular process gas from allothermic gasification processes. According to said method, the gas (1) is cooled in successive steps and in said steps contaminants are eliminated from the gas (1) by condensation, whereby in at least one step contaminants are additionally eliminated from the gas (1) by chemical means. The aim of the invention is to achieve a problem-free, effective gas purification without undesired reactions. To achieve this, the gas (1), once produced, is conducted through a cyclone separator (2) in order to eliminate solid matter under adjustable physical conditions and is then abruptly cooled in succession by a heat exchanger (3) coupled to the cyclone separator (2) and by finely sprayed liquid droplets, produced by passage through a turbulent liquid bath. |
