PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film which is excellent in shrinkage finish properties is prevented from shrinkage-whitening even if stored for a long time, has favorable tear resistance, and is suitable for a label. SOLUTION: The mole percentage of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol component out of polyhydric alcohol components in the heat-shrinkable polyester film comprising at least three layers of an intermediate layer and surface and back layers laminated on both sides of the intermediate layer is 5-25. In the surface and back layers, a layer containing no 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol component is provided. A difference in haze between the polyester film which is shrunken in a prescribed state after being stored in an atmosphere of 30°C and 85% relative humidity for four weeks and the polyester film before being shrunken is 5% or below. A shrinkage factor in the maximum shrinkage direction of the polyester film when the film is immersed in hot water of 95°C for 10 seconds is 50% or more.
