UNIDIRECTIONALLY REINFORCED FIBER SHEET AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unidirectionally reinforced fiber sheet which prevents the occurrence of wrinkles in a fibrillated sheet and is easy to handle, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A plurality of fiber bundles B are fed to a nip roller 11 in parallel to be fed out to a fibrillation process. In the fibrillation process, falling air flows are applied to the fiber bundles B by a wind tunnel pipeline 16 while repeatedly pressing the fiber bundles B from above and below by a press mechanism 13 to fibrillate the fiber bundles B and the fibrillated fiber bundles B are fed by a feed roller 17 to be shaped into the fibrillated sheet S. A powdery hot-melt material is sprinkled over the upper surface of the shaped fibrillated sheet S by a sprinkler 22 and a fixing sheet R is superposed on this fibrillated sheet S to be thermally welded to the fibrillated sheet S by a heating roller 24. The long fibers of the fibrillate sheet S are welded to the fixing sheet to prevent the occurrence of wrinkles in the fibrillate sheet S. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
