PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time until a cutoff spring force is released at a cutoff time in a switching device. SOLUTION: A rotatable closing shaft 81, a main lever 11 that is fixed to the closing shaft 81 and interlocked with a movable contact, a cutoff spring, a sub-shaft 70, an auxiliary lever and a latch lever 72 fixed to the sub-shaft 70, a roller 72a mounted on the tip of the latch lever 72, a rotatable latch 91 and a kick lever 51, a lock lever 52 rotatable against the latch 91 and the kick lever 51, a latch return spring 91a that energizes the latch 91, and a lock lever return spring 51b that energizes the lock lever 52 so as to push the latch 91 are provided. In the closing state, the roller 72a pushes the tip 102 of the latch 91, and at a cutoff operation time, the lock lever 52 is drawn so as to allow rotation of the latch 91, then engagement of the roller 72a and the tip 102 of the latch 91 becomes released, and the sub-shaft 70 is rotated due to a releasing force of the cutoff spring.
