摘要 A voltage regulator circuit and a method for controlling the same are provided to suppress power consumption in unloading by varying current consumption in an error amplifier with a rapid response speed. A voltage regulator circuit includes an output transistor(M1), a reference voltage generator(2), an output voltage detector(R1,R2), and first and second error amplifiers(4,5). The output transistor outputs currents from an input terminal to an output terminal according a control signal. The reference voltage generator generates a reference voltage. The output voltage detector detects an output voltage from the output terminal and generates a proportion voltage in proportion to the output voltage. The first error amplifier controls the output transistor in order to equalize the proportion voltage with the reference voltage. The second error amplifier having rapid response speed more than the first error amplifier on variation of the output voltage increases an output current on the output transistor during a predetermined time when the output voltage is abruptly decreased. The second error amplifier adjusts current consumption based on an output current from the output transistor.
