PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travel support device and the like capable of stably recognizing a travelling path in a light environment with respect to a vehicle.SOLUTION: An image processing unit 2 detects a shadow area occurring on a road where a vehicle can travel and a shadow edge that is an edge portion of the shadow area, from an image obtained by imaging an area ahead of the vehicle with a camera 1f. A controller 3 estimates the direction of a light source forming a shadow with respect to the vehicle on the basis of the direction of the shadow area and the shadow edge. With this configuration, the controller 3 controls a speed control unit 7 and a steering control unit 8 to control behavior of the vehicle so that direct sunlight is not incident on the camera 1f. |
