This air conditioner comprises a wall-mounted indoor unit that exchanges heat with air taken in through an air inlet and blows the air out from an air outlet. The top face of the indoor unit is provided with a light source unit that emits light in an upward direction. Thus, if the indoor unit is mounted on a wall face of a room, indirect lighting is possible by the indoor unit serving as a shield. Moreover, favorable air conditioning is possible for which the indoor unit can be mounted to the top of the wall face of the room in the same manner as previously without causing the occupants made to feel discomfort. Therefore, indirect light can be provided easily and inexpensively even in existing housing without losing air conditioning performance.
