PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomarker for identifying the presence or absence of the exposure against hexanal (Hexanal) which is one of volatile organic compounds exposed in the environment, and to provide an identification method using the same.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a specific microRNA in which expression change is caused by hexanal, and to a method for identifying the presence or absence of the exposure against hexanal using it. The biomarker of the invention is a responsive microRNA selected through a microRNA microarray chip, which can be usefully used in monitoring and identification of the pollution caused by hexanal, and can be used as a tool for the studies of the mechanism of hexanal-induced toxic effects.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
