PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing apparatus and a signal processing method for obtaining an image signal with high image quality by obtaining an image signal proper to signal processing so as to apply signal processing to the image signal.

SOLUTION: A signal processing section 4 applies image conversion processing to a first digital image signal obtained from an output of a sensor section 1 to output a second digital image signal. Further, the signal processing section 4 evaluates the first digital image signal in a prescribed region such as a region of one pixel and an entire image and changes part of the sensor section 1 corresponding to the first digital image signal in the prescribed region to have performance in response to the evaluation of the first digital image signal in the prescribed region.
