<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy manufacturing method of an exhaust emission control converter, without an offensive odor in use and malfunction of an exhaust emission control system, by setting the inside organic content within 1%, in the exhaust emission control converter. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control converter is composed of a holding sealant composed of a crystalline alumina fiber mat arranged between a catalyst holder and a metallic shell for covering its outside and processed by needle punching. Bulk density before assembling the crystalline alumina fiber mat is set to 0.1 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more. In a method for incorporating the outer periphery of the holding sealant into the metallic shell after being partially covered with a pressure sensitive adhesive tape after winding the holding sealant on the catalyst holder, filling density of the holding sealant after incorporation is set to 0.2 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more. In the manufacturing method of the exhaust emission control converter, the vaporizing organic content of the exhaust emission control converter is set less than 1%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
