Device for an optical plug connector

The device has a protection unit mounted on an optical cable connector (33) that is connected to an optical cable or optical cable lead. A fixed unit is inserted into a housing (56). A front section of the housing encloses a front section of the connector that is projected over the fixing unit. The protection unit is plugged together with the cable connector comprising a plug receiving unit. The front section of the connector is plugged into a front side of the receiving unit for producing an optical connection in a cable connector plug-in opening.
