PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite display apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional video or a two-dimensional video while magnifying the video in a horizontal direction with a wide angle of view by introducing a video see-through system, then, capable of achieving good observation. SOLUTION: The composite display apparatus includes a pair of image display units for observer's right and left eyes, each of which includes an imaging system having an imaging optical system and an imaging device on which an outside world image is formed by the imaging optical system, and a display system having a display element for displaying the outside world image obtained by the imaging system and a display optical system for guiding the light from the display element to observer's eyes. The imaging angle-of-view of the imaging system is larger than the display angle-of-view of the display system, the overlap ratio of images imaged by the imaging systems for right and left eyes in one direction is larger than the overlap ratio of the images displayed by the display systems for right and left eyes in one direction.
