PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitivity of an electrophotographic photoreceptor by using a specific indeno pyranone derivative as an electron transport agent. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided with a photosensitive layer, containing at least the electron transport agent, a charge generating agent, and a binder resin on a conductive substrate, where the electron transport agent is a compound expressed by Formula (1). In the Formula (1), R represents 1-6C straight chain or branched alkyl group, 6-20C aryl group which may have 1-6C straight chain or branched alkyl group as substituent, 6-20 aralkyl group, 3-10C cycloalkyl group or 1-6C straight chain or branched alcoxy group, R<SB>1</SB>denotes 1-6C straight chain or branched alkyl group.
