POROUS CUP FOR TENSIOMETRIC MEASUREMENT OF SOIL WATER

A porous ceramic cup composition for a tensiometer, and a method for preparing a porous ceramic cup for a tensiometer are provided to allow the soil moisture tension to be measured stably on spot to a higher limit of 100 kPa or more. A porous ceramic cup composition for a tensiometer comprises a powder material which comprises 87.0 wt% of aluminum oxide(Al2O3), 11.0 wt% of silicon dioxide, 1.5 wt% of diatomite, and 0.5 wt% of a peptizing agent; 60 wt% of water; and 2 wt% of poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) and 1 wt% of polyethylene glycol(PEG) as a binder. Also the powder material comprises 85.0-88.0 wt% of Al2O3; 10.7-11.3 wt% of SiO2; 0.15 wt% of MgO; 0.20 wt% of Fe2O3; 0.09 wt% of CaO; 0.02 wt% of K2O; 0.33 wt% of Na2O; and 0.02 wt% of TiO2.
