ROLL OF LONGITUDINALLY FOLDED MASKING MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR FORMING THE ROLL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll made of a masking material longitudinally folded like a coil-like shape used for a dispenser with a kind for adhering a tape along one edge of a sheet of the masking material.

SOLUTION: A roll (24) of masking material (25) comprises a coiled elongated thin flexible sheet (85), which sheet has longitudinal folds (87) having first and second elongated edges opposed to each other, and forming edges of portions extending in the longitudinal direction of the sheet. Those longitudinally extending portions of the sheet include pleat-like portions (90) of the sheet, and outermost ones (92, 93) of the pleat-like portions form opposite outer surfaces of a laminate (91). At least some of the edges of the pleat like portions (90) are positioned generally radially aligned at a first end (86) of the roll (24), and at least 75 percent of a sheet material of the pleat-like portions (90) is within 2/3 of an axial length of the roll (24) from the first end (86).
