A top of a convertible vehicle is proposed, comprising a linkage (22), wherein, by using said linkage, at least one top element is displaceable between a closed position for spanning a vehicle interior and a cleared position for clearing the vehicle interior to the top and wherein, by using said linkage, a rear window (18), which, in relation to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top on each of its two sides, is connected to the linkage (22) via a rear window link (32), is displaceable between a lifted viewing position and a lowered storage position, in which the rear window is arranged in a storage space (20), as well as comprising a detection apparatus, which identifies an obstacle (37) in the storage space (20) when the rear window (18) is being displaced from the viewing position in the direction of the storage position and which interacts with a control apparatus (42) of the top. The rear window (18) is part of the detection apparatus.
